A neighborhood osteria
Osteria Danny was opened by Danny Petrosino, who built it the way he built everything — with his family beside him and a simple idea at the center: that the best meals are unfussy, generous, and shared. A room in Saratoga Springs where the pasta is rolled that morning, the welcome is warm, and nothing tries too hard.
In 2025 the restaurant passed into the hands of Nicholas Byrne, a Saratoga local who fell for the same idea. It remains family-owned and family-run, carrying forward the recipes, the standards, and the neighborhood spirit Danny started with.
An osteria has always been the neighborhood table — a place for good wine, honest cooking, and lingering a little longer than you meant to. That is still the spirit we cook and pour in, every night at 26 Henry Street.
Three words we cook by
New
A menu that follows the season, not the calendar. What is best right now is what we serve tonight.
Old
The techniques that never needed improving. Pasta by hand, sauces with time, hospitality the old-fashioned way.
Simple
Few ingredients, chosen well and left alone. Good bread, good wine, a table you don't want to leave.
Seasonal, hand-crafted, honest
We cook the way we'd cook at home, a little more ambitiously. Pasta is made in-house every morning, produce comes from growers we know, and the menu follows the season rather than the calendar.
